Stibbe, Shirley Rose (25 JUL 1970)

Relatives and friends from Wausau, Medford, Rib Lake, Baraboo, Milwaukee and St. Paul came for the wedding of Miss Shirley Rose Stibbe and Dennis Leffel at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, March Rapids, Saturday, July 25, 1970, at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Kent E. Schroeder of Stratford performed the ceremony, during which the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leffel Sr. of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Leffel of Stratford, were united in marriage.

For her attendants the bride chose her sister, Miss Kathy Stibbe of Colby, as her maid of honor, and the groom's sister-in-law, Mrs. Darrel Leffel of Stratford, as bridesmaid, and a sister, Miss Alice Leffel of Colby, as flower girl.

Delmar Leffel Stratford, was best man. Darrel Leffel, Stratford, was groomsman, and Darnel Sazama was ring bearer.

Richard Stibbe of Colby and Virgil Reckner of Stratford were the ushers.

The bride wore an entrained floor length A-line gown of taffeta and Chantilly lace, designed with a high neck and long sleeves. A petal and crystal forward headpiece held her veil of silk illusion. Roses and carnations were combined in the bridal bouquet.

Mint green floor length gowns of satin and lace with matching headpieces were worn by the bride's attendants. They carried daffodils. The flower girls' attire was like that of the bride.

After the church ceremony, a reception was held at the Henry Leffel home, following by dinner at the church. A wedding dance took place at the Poplar Tree Ballroom, Marathon.

The bride, a graduate of the Colby High School in 1968, was employed as a key punch operator by West Publishing Company in St. Paul. Her husband, a 1968 graduate of the Stratford High School, is in maintenance at G.M.A.D. in Janesville.

They are making their home at 409 W. Milwaukee Street, Janesville.
