Matthias, Christina (15 APR 1979 – 05 JUL 1975)

Mrs. Christina Matthias, 96, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Nursing Home, Colby.

Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Curtiss. The Rev. Roger Tellock will officiate. Burial will follow at Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery, Curtiss.

Friends may call at Kraut-Maurina Funeral home in Abbotsford after 4 p.m. today. The Abbotsford Chapter, 185, Order of Eastern Star, will hold services at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Matthias was born April 15, 1979 in the Town of Hoard (Clark Co.). The former Christina Thompson married Frank Matthias in 1900 at Curtiss. He died in July 1949.

She was a school teacher before her marriage. After marriage, from 1904 to 1915, they lived in Glidden. From 1915 to 1945 they farmed in the Town of Hoard. They then moved to Curtiss, where Mrs. Matthias lived until entering the nursing home in September 1973.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Abbotsford Chapter No. 185, Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivor are four sons, Harold, Ashland, Norman, Tacoma, Washington, Franklin, Danville, California, and Carol, Norfolk, Virginia; one brother, Arthur Thompson, Curtiss; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Peterson, Curtiss, and Mrs. Ida Peters, Washington; none grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
