On Friday, July 4, 1975 the Stuve family held a family reunion at the Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.) Community Hall in recognition of the 60th wedding anniversary of Howell and Mable (Stallard) Stuve. Howell Stuve is 84 and his wife 81 years old.

A potluck dinner was served. Nieces, nephews and grandchildren presented a musical program. Family history sketches were presented by Almyra (Stuve) Helwig of Danbury and Kathryn (Burnett) Isaacson of Herbster.

Present were all the living brothers and sisters of Howell Stuve, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.). They included Raymond and Nina and Mrs. Beatrice Stuve of Humbird, Almyra and Karl Helwig of Danbury, Helen and Rober Short of Wessington Springs, South Dakota, and John Stuve of Owen.

Mrs. Iva (Stallard) Rezin of Wisconsin Rapids, sister of Mrs. Mable Stuve, was also present.

Children of the late Mrs. Margaret (Stuve) Martin and Charles Martin attending were Lyle and Lillian Martin, Raymond Martin, and Roy and Eileen (Martin) Anderson of Madison, James and Mary Martin of Beloit, Beryl and Gen Allen of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Rosemary and Lyle William of Alexandria, Minnesota.

Dr. and Mrs. Karl Helwig of Marquette, Michigan, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Martin of Whitewater, children of Karl and Almyra Helwig, were present as well, as were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kahlstorf of Lake George, Minnesota, daughter-in-law of Bob and Helen Short; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stuve of Humbird, son and daughter-in-law of Mrs. Beatrice Stuve, and Mrs. Larry Green of Merrillan, daughter of Lyle Martin.

Seven of the Howell Stuves’ children and their families were present. These were Phyllis Green, Curtiss; Dorothy Kostlevy, Loyal; Dwight Stuve, Wisconsin Rapids, Paul Stuve, St. Paul, Minnesota; Mary Harms and Janet Anderson, Sturgis, South Dakota, and Gwen Pearson, Angora, Minnesota.

The youngest grandchild was Matthew Joel Pearson, one month, of Angora, Minnesota. The oldest grandchild was Terry Stuve of Wisconsin Rapids. The only great-grandchild in attendance was Ryan Edward Stuve, four months, of Wisconsin Rapids, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Stuves.

Absent were Ralph G. Stuve, New Mexico, and Virginia (Stuve) Boney, Seattle.

Many other relatives and friends also visited at the gathering. The young people enjoyed a swim in Lake Emerson.
