College Notes (Graduates/Honors - Fall Semester 2019)

The following area students graduated in December 2019 from University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie.

From Granton, Cameron Hunter graduated with a bachelor of science in human development and family studies.

From Neillsville, Chad Pagenkopf earned a bachelor of science in technology education and Charles Scaletta, a bachelor of science in health in health, wellness and fitness.

From Withee, Stacy Fronk earned her master of science in education in the area of school psychology.

The following local residents were among 369 students receiving degrees from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls following commencement in December. Bachelor’s degrees were awarded to 330 undergraduates, while 39 students received master’s degrees.

From Owen, Colton Booth, graduated with a bachelor of science in business administration and Morgan Vetterkind graduated with a bachelor of science in animal science.

From Unity, Ryan Lynn graduated with a bachelor of science in crop and soil science.

The following local residents were named to the President’s List of High Distinction for the fall 2019 term at Western Technical College in La Crosse: Cassandra Elmer of Greenwood and Aaron Morrow of Colby.

To be included on the list, students must achieve a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher and carry 12 or more credits in an associate’s degree or technical diploma program.

One local student was among the 1,596 named by deans at Fort Hays State University, in Hays, KS, to the Deans Honor Roll for the fall 2019 semester.

The Deans Honor Roll includes undergraduate students only. To be eligible, students must have completed 12 or more credit hours and earned a minimum GPA of 3.6 for the semester. Full-time on-campus and virtual college students are eligible.

Amy Elizabeth Melvin of Neillsville made the list. She is a senior majoring in psychology.

A total of 10,066 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the fall semester 2019 dean’s list. Students named to the dean’s list must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.

From Chili, Emily Arlene Serchen was named to the list. She is a fourth-year student studying landscape architecture.

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has extended congratulations to the 2,566 students named to the fall 2019 dean’s list.

“Their academic performance has been outstanding, and we recognize these students with pride,” a press release from the university’s Jean Piper stated.

The dean’s list eligibility criteria can be found online at uwec.edu/news/news/fall-2019-deans-list2-3965/.

Students named to the list are listed by their hometown, name and college.
