Short, Elaine (28 December 1919 – 6 February 2020)

Elaine Short, 100, of DeForest, formerly of Granton, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at the Parkside Assisted Living Center in DeForest.

Elaine was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Granton, the daughter of Arthur and Elsie (Neitzel) Short. She graduated from Neillsville High School and then attended Central State Teacher’s College in Stevens Point. She taught for a short time before moving to Milwaukee, where she worked at an office job for Allis Chalmers Company. After retiring from Allis Chalmers, she moved back to Granton to care for her elderly parents. In 2011, Elaine moved to DeForest.

She is survived by a sister, Audrey Troemner of DeForest; two nephews, Greg (Lori) Troemner of Sylvania, OH, and Scott Troemner of DeForest; and a great-nephew, Matthew Troemner of Sylvania, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family funeral services will be held.

Honorary casket bearer is William Ganther.

Casketbearers are Greg Troemner, Scott Troemner, Matthew Troemner, Gary Sternitzky and Leo Ganther.
