Lewis, Granville G. (30 August 1930 – 18 September 1975)

Funeral services were held Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home for Granville G. Lewis, 70, of Neillsville, who died September 18 following a lingering illness. The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiated, and burial followed in the Columbia Cemetery in the Town of Hewett.

Mr. Lewis, the son of Jacob and Mary (Marty) Lewis, was born January 14, 1905, at Monroe and was educated there. His marriage to the former Fern Ostrander took place August 30, 1930, in Wauwatosa. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the Monroe area until 1952 when they moved to the Town of Weston. They moved to Neillsville in 1967. Mr. Lewis, who had been a resident of Memorial Home for the past six months, was a member of the United Church of Christ.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lewis of Monroe; six children, Mrs. Alfred (Carla) Ufken of Monticello, Ted Lewis of Florence, Mt., Mrs. Ted (Pat) Haugo of Big Fork, Mt., Roger Lewis of Hamilton, Mt., and Mrs. John (Mary Jane) Pettit of Marshfield; and 23 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Vernon (Frances) Ostrander of Monroe; and two brothers, Harold Lewis of Janesville and Allen Lewis of Tucson, Az.

Lewis, Granville G. (30 August 1930 – 18 September 1975)

Granville G. Lewis, 70, who died September 18, was buried in the Columbia Cemetery September 23 following services at the Georgas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Clark in charge.

Pallbearers were Kurt Marg, Keith Marg, David Hause, Duane Marty, Wayne Ufken and Norbert Berlick.

People from out-ot-town who attended the service were Mr. and Mrs. John Pettit of Mar4shfield, Mr and Mrs. Alfred Ufken of Monticello, Harold Lewis of Janesville, Mrs. Dorothy Duchow of Tomahawk, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Ruffner of New Glarus and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ostrander, Mrs. Irene Kohl, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Stucky and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Duchow, all of Monroe.
