Skavlem, Ann Rebecca (Marriage – 11 October1975)

The Ecumenical Religious Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire was the setting of the October 11 wedding of Miss Ann Rebecca Skavlem and Steven Gary Barrette. Fr. McKillup of campus ministry officiated at the 2:45 p.m. ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Skavlem, Plymouth, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Barrette, Wisconsin Rapids. A reception was held at the Seahorse Inn, Eau Claire.

The bride wore a pale yellow gown and carried an arrangement of daisies and roses as she was presented in marriage by her father.

Honor attendant, Lori Greisch, Milwaukee, appeared in an orange gown and carried a single orange rose.

The groom was attended by Gary Lukaszewski, La Crosse. Samuel Barrette brother of the groom, ushered.

A guitar Mass was played and sung by Deb Bassler, Debby Selky, Jan Bauer, Mike Pheifer and Sarah Ulness, students at the UW-Eau Claire.

The new Mrs. Barrette graduated from Plymouth High School and received a bachelor of arts degree from the UW-Eau Claire. She is a speech therapist for the Neillsville Public Schools. Her husband, a graduate of Assumption High School, Wisconsin Rapids, is a senior in accounting at the UW-Eau Claire. They are making their home on Rt. 1 Osseo.
