Nemitz, Minnie (10 July 1885 – 22 October 1975)

A longtime resident of the Neillsville area, Mrs. Minnie Nemitz, died Wednesday, October 22, at the age of 90 following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Saturday from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiating. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nemitz, the daughter of Carl and Augusta Reetz Wetzel was born July 10, 1885, in Germany and came to the United States at the age of six, settling in the Neillsville area. Her marriage to Fred Nemitz took place June 26, 1901, in Neillsville.

The couple farmed in the Town of Pine Valley throughout their married life. Following the death of her husband on December 21, 1947, Mrs. Nemitz made her home with her children. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and of its Ladies Aid Society.

Surviving are five children: Martin Nemitz of Glendive, Mt., August Nemitz, Mrs. Alma Noll and Arthur Nemitz of Neillsville and Louis Nemitz of New Auburn; Two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Meihack of Neillsville and Mrs. Marie Holling of Livingston, Mt., two brothers, Otto Wetzel of Neillsville and William Wetzel of Oakland, Ca.; 17 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Nemitz, Minnie (10 July 1885 – 22 October 1975)

Funeral services were held October 25 from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Mrs. Minnie Nemitz, 90 of Neillsville, who died October 22. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated, and burial followed in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Lawrence Dux, Roger Meier, Michael Meier, David Dux, Eugene Dux and Paul Dux.

Connie Hagedorn sang “The 23rd Psalm” and “Asleep in Jesus.”. Sharron Weber was the accompanist.

Among those attending the services were the following from out of town: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nemitz, New Auburn; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dux, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nemitz, Dayton, Oh.; Mr. and Mrs. William Nemitz and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nemitz, Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roycraft, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Godwin, Big Bend; Mr. and Mrs. John Hainzlsperger and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hainzlsperger, Colby.
