Gwiazda, Mr./Mrs. Michael (Silver – 21 JUN 1972)

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gwiazda celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, July 22, 1972.

With a surprise party given by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gwiazda, brother and sister-in-law of the couple, at the Ukrainian Church Hall, known to many at “99” hall, where a dance was held in their honor, highlighting the evening with a mock wedding. Music was furnished by “The Starrs,” Walter and Greg Gwiazda.

The bride and groom of twenty-five years ago greeted their guests, her wearing a white brocade dress, and a corsage of yellow mums with silver ribbon. A white mum boutonniere was worn by Mr. Gwiazda. The bridesmaid wore a corsage of lavender mums and best man a mum boutonniere. Gift from Waneta Gwiazda was the three tier cake.

Miss Laurie Gwiazda, daughter of the couple, had charge of the guest book. A buffet lunch was served to about 150 guests who were present from St. Paul, Minnesota, Stanley, Boyd, Chippewa Falls, Gilman, Loyal, Curtiss, and Thorp, and Chicago, Illinois.

The former Marian Wachsmuth and Michael Gwiazda were married on June 21, 1947 in the Town of Pershing. Their attendants were Mrs. Alvin (Isabelle) Brenner, niece of the bride, and Walter Gwiazda, brother of the groom. Both were present for the occasion.

The couple have spent their entire married life in the Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and Gilman area. They have five children: Mrs. Gary (Doreen) Baures, Michael Jr., Brian, Jeffery, and Laura at home.
The have one granddaughter, Dana. The couple live in Thorp at present.
