Wrobel, Christine Frances (23 SEP 1972)

White satin bows on the pews and two potted gold mum plants decorated the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee for the marriage of Christine Frances Wrobel and David Allan Konieczny on Saturday, September 23rd, 1972. Reverend Robert Sullivan performed the two p.m. contemporary marriage ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wrobel Sr. , Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Konieczny, Jr., Thorp (Clark Co.).

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a white dress of Belgium lace bodice, featuring Camelot sleeves, high neckline, raised waist, A-line modified skirt with gallon lace panels, attached chapel sweep train. A Belgium lace profile headpiece with tiny bow trim held her fingertip and Cathedral length veil. She carried a cascade type bouquet of white baby carnations, baby’s breath and yellow roses.

Susan Kobylarczyk, friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Virginia Wrobel, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Sharon Maier, sister of the groom. They wore gowns of bubble chiffon bodice of ivory, styled with high neckline, lantern sleeves, floral embroidery trim at raised waist, neckline, and Georgette over taffeta gathered skirts. They all wore picture hats with satin ribbons going through them to match the colors of their dress, in orange, avocado and purple. They carried cascade bouquets of white and tinted carnations with baby’s breath added.

Attending the groom as best man was David Lendoski, friend of the groom, and groomsmen were Joseph Wynimko and Ralph Maier. Ushers were Richard Wrobel Jr. and Roger Konieczny.

A supper and reception were held at the Quonset Hall, Thorp for 375 guests.

The bride, a graduate of Thorp High School, is a secretary with ITT Midwestern Life Insurance Company. The groom, also a graduate of Thorp High School, is a sawmill operator with Teledyne Fredric Post Company.
