Fricke, Oscar (1 January 1918-19 October 1979)

LOYAL--Funeral services were held this morning at St. Anthony's Catholic Church for Oscar Fricke, 61, of 112 Spring St. He died Friday at Marshfield Convalescent Center.

The Rev. Chester J. Osowski officiated and pallbearers were Alfred Meyer, James Beaver, Mike Weyer, Leroy Kauth, Al Hadon and Tom Lindner. Loyal American Legion conducted military rites.

Mr. Fricke was born January 1, 1918 at Loyal to August and Mary Fricke. He attended St. Baltus Parochial School and graduated from Loyal High School. A world War II veteran, he served with the U.S. Army for five years and was with European Theater of Operations.

He lived in Eau Claire for three years and the returned to Loyal to farm until November 1978 when he moved to the city of Loyal. Besides farming, he operated an excavating business the past nine years.

He was a member of St, Anthony's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Spencer and the Loyal American Legion.

His wife, the former Evelyn Beaver, survives along with a son, David of Loyal; three daughters, Mrs. Alan (Barbara) Langfeldt and Mrs. Anthony (Mary Jo) Mayer, both of Loyal, and Mrs. Jerry (Susan) Beil of Marshfield; a brother, George Fricke of Spencer; two sisters, Mrs. Melva Martusis and Mrs. William (Arwilda) Loch, both of Rockville, Minnesota; and 10 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Rinka Funeral Home. A Knights of Columbus Rosary was said there Sunday evening.
