Meyer, Odelia (19 November 1917-18 May 1992)

LOYAL--Services for Odelia (Mrs. Alfred) Meyer, 74, rural Loyal, who was pronounced dead Monday by the Clark County Coroner Rober Lulloff of an apparent heart attack, will be Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal.

Visitation will be at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, today. A Parish Council of Catholic Women Rosary Service will be today followed by a Franciscan Sisters prayer service, a general rosary service and a Knights of Columbus rosary service, all at the funeral home.

She was born November 19, 1917, in Rozellville, to Peter and Clara (Morrand) Burr. She attended St. Andrew's School in Rozellville. She was married to Alfred Meyer June 15, 1938, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1988.

After her marriage, she and her husband lived in Auburndale until 1943 and then moved to Marshfield. They moved to Stratford in 1944 and in 1946 moved to the town of Loyal, where they farmed. They moved to the town of Beaver in 1975 and also farmed there.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was active in the Council of Catholic Women, Deanery and Diocesan National level. She was a 4-H leader for many years and a charter member of the Clark County Pleasure Riders and Future Farmers of American Alumni. She was a member of two homemakers clubs, a charter member of the West Loyal Homemakers and a member of the Trim 'N Tidy Homemakers Club. She also participated in the bicentennial wagon train across Wisconsin.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Sister Virdean Meyer of Marshfield; eight sons, Ronald of Marshfield, Richard and Larry, both of Unity, Fritz of Hudson and Allen, Danny, Randy and Robert, all of Loyal; three sisters, Mrs. Anker (Olive) Jorgensen and Mrs. George Collins, both of Kenosha, and Sister Dorothea Burr of Milwaukee; one brother, Delbert Burr of Loyal; 41 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, one brother, Lorell Burr, four sisters, Hilda Rogstad, Viola Fischer, Florence Kroening and Sylvia Drexler, one grandson and three granddaughters.
