LOYAL--Walter E. Radue, 80, of Loyal, died January 21, 1999 at his home.

Funeral services will be noon Monday at the Rinka Funeral Home in Loyal with the Rev. Roman Kaiser officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.

Walter was born June 7, 1918, in Stratford to August and Elsa (nee Krohl) Radue. He was raised on the family farm and graduated in 1936 from the Purdy School in Marshfield. After his schooling he farmed in the Chili area until 1942.

On April 25, 1942, he was united in marriage to Margaret Wolf at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood. The couple moved to Wisconsin Rapids and farmed there for one year before moving to Loyal and farming north of town for 33 years. His wife died on November 10, 1967, In 1974 he sold the farm and moved into Loyal. He then worked with his son, Donald, as a plumber until 1996. He resided in Loyal until the time of death. Walter was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his son Donald Radue of Loyal; son-in-law Michael (Nancy) Potter of Arpin and their children, Brad Brehm, Robert Potter and Gabrielle Potter; two brothers, Herman (Lois) Radue of Sun Prairie and Paul (Vi) Radue of Waterloo, Iowa; and four sisters, Erna (Gordon) Kemps of Schofield, Dora Brown of Marshfield, Esther Masphol of Mosinee and Lena Miller of Marshfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Patricia Ann Potter; and two brothers, Ed and Martin Radue.
