Donald J. “Tiny” Albrecht (24 May 1935 - 9 Dec 2014)


Donald J. “Tiny” Albrecht, 79, of Lake Holcombe passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at the Ladysmith Nursing Home in Ladysmith.

He was born the son of Arthur and Erna (Spindler) Albrecht on May 24, 1935, in Edgar.

Donald graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1953 and worked at Holton Cheese Factory and became co-owner in 1960. On Oct. 16, 1965, he married Sharon Ann Stubbs in Dorchester. In 1974 they established Albrecht’s Cheese, a well-known store in the Lake Holcombe community. They operated the store until retiring in 2000. After retiring he worked for Markquart Motors, shuttling cars between dealers. Tiny had been a resident in the Ladysmith Nursing Home for the past several years.

Donald was a 50 plus year Lions Club Member and was the 2nd President of the Dorchester Lions Club as well as a Charter member. He was also an avid Packer Fan.

Donald is survived by his sister, Betty (Jerry) Radlinger of Dorchester; niece, Julene (James) Mueller of Phillips; great-nephew, Kirk Cwikla; great-niece, Amber Von Seggern; special friends, Karen and Bob Langland of Holcombe; several great-great-nieces, nephews and a special buddy, Sparky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; infant son; and a nephew, Troy Cwikla.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the Holcombe United Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Kim officiating.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the Church.

Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery in Dorchester.

Following the service, a Celebration and lunch will be held at Paradise Shores in Holcombe.
