Wehe, Wilfred (29 Dec 1921-6 November 1938)

An automobile that ran out of gasoline figured yesterday in an accident that cost the lives of two men and resulted in serious injuries to a third. The accident occurred in La Grange road, one-half mile south of Higgins road, near Des Plaines.

Shortly before the accident the car of George E. Halgren, ran out of gasoline. It was stalled on the outer lane of the four lane highway. Behind it, in the same lane, Arthur L. Ashcraft, Arlington Heights, suddenly saw the stalled machine and swerved left to avoid it.

At that same moment another car was about to pass Ashcraft. Instead it struck the rear left end of his machine, went out of control, and turned over.

Two of its occupants, Adam Amberg, 64 years old and WILFRED WEHE, 18, were killed, Another, John Lueck, 41, is in critical condition in the Northwestern Hospital in Des Plaines. All three were employed at the Maria Immaculate convent of the Sisters of Christian Charity in Wilmette
