Scheel, Martha (28 December 1875-23 July 1930)
Loyal, July 31--Mrs. William Scheel, 55, who died Wednesday at the Chippewa 
Falls hospital following an operation for gall stones, performed the previous 
Monday, and whose funeral was held Saturday from the Woodmen hall, was a native 
of Germany, having been born in Saxony, December 28, 1875.
Several years later she came to America with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. 
Ernest Kattermann who lived two years in New York before locating on a farm near 
Sherry, where she grew to womanhood. She was married in 1891 at Huron, South 
Dakota to her surviving husband, and came with him to the town o Beaver, Clark 
County, in 1894. In 1905 they moved to the present farm home in the town of 
Green Grove.
Besides her husband, she leaves seven sons, four daughters, two sisters, a 
brother, and a number of grandchildren. The children are Frank of Abbotsford, 
Henry of Marshfield, Lula (Mrs. Louis Hardrath) of Bright, Green Grove township, 
Roland of Romeo, Louis of Green Grove, Sophie (Mrs. William Schulhauser) of the 
town of Marshfield, and Minnie, Ralph, Herman, Etta and Lawrence, at home.
The sisters are Mrs. Robert Thomas of Sherry, and Mrs. Mary Glanz of South 
Carolina, and the brother, Emil Kattermann, is at Winlock, Montana.
Burial was made in the Union cemetery at Loyal, with six of the sons serving as 
pallbearers.
