Nancy Lynn Hedler and Thomas James Woods were united in marriage on Saturday, November 11, 1972 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp. Father Will Grelle performed the 4 p.m. ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hedler and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Woods, both of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

Mrs. Mary Chaplinski sang “You’ve Got a Friend,” “The Wedding Song” and “On This Day,” accompanied by Tina Badzinski.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of Sata-Peau styled with an empire waist, A-line skirt and chapel train edged with a wife ruffle. Guapier lace trimmed the wedding band collar, bodice and Camelot sleeves. Her fingertip veil was secured to a matching Juliet cap. She carried a bouquet of peach roses, stephanotis, and baby’s breath.

Sally Hedler, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were: Diane Zagozen, sister of the groom, and Jan Hedler, cousin of the bride. Lynn Hedler, sister of the bride, was flower girl. Their formals were of moss green crepe with large ivory colored lace with self-tying belts in back. They wore a cluster of moss green ribbons in their hair and carried bouquets of white carnations and mums.

Arlin Jenness, cousin of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were: Duane Woods, brother of the groom, and Dennis Hedler, brother of the bride. Ushers were Marion Sieroczuk and Bill Bishop.

A reception and dance were held at the Thorp American Legion Hall.

After a week of touring the Southern states, they will reside at 206 Spruce Street, Spooner, Wisconsin.
