Raasch, Rev & Mrs. Arthur (45th – 16 JUN 1971)

Following the Bible School program for 1991, a party was held in the church basement (North Green Grove – St. Paul’s Lutheran) honoring Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Raasch on their 45th wedding anniversary, and Pastor Raasch’s 45th year as a minister.

The Ladies Aid Society provided the decorated anniversary cake for the occasion and those who attended the program brought covered dishes.

Rev. and Mrs. Raasch were married in St. Louis, Missouri, June 16, 1926, by Rev. E. Duever. Rev Raasch graduated from the Lutheran seminary in St. Louis one week before their wedding. They traveled to Buffalo, N.Y. following their marriage to visit his parents, and remained there until October, at which time they went to India to do missionary work, and were there for 27 years.

Upon return to America he accepted the ministry at Friedheim, Missouri for seven and one-half years, the four and one-half years at Meade, Kansas, and came to Green Grove about six years ago.

They are parents of nine children: Mrs. James (Virginia) Blind of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert Raasch, St. Louis, Missouri, Miss Audrey Raasch, R.N., Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Tema Gahan, Africa, and twin sons, William Raasch, teacher and organist, Granada Hills, California, and Rev. Walter Raasch, Ogoja, Nigeria, Mrs. Fred (Linda) Jordan, Corning, N.Y., and Paul, Arthur and Mrs. Gunter (Mary) Armbruster, who are deceased.

They have 27 grandchildren.
