Wilding, Jesse O. (15 May 1879 – 19 April 1976)

Jesse O. Wilding of Memorial Home and formerly of 100 Court St., Neillsville, died April 19 at the age of 96. Services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. William Noble of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

The body of Mr. Wilding was to be in state at the funeral home from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. today (Thursday) until time of services.

Jesse Wilding, the son of George and Mariah Hitchcock Wilding, was born May 15, 1879, in the Town of Grant and was educated in schools there. He was married to the former Ida Carter on March 30, 1905. The couple farmed in the Shortville area until her death on February 13, 1925.

Mr. Wilding worked at various jobs prior to his second marriage, which took place May 28, 1932, in Winona, Mn., to the former Emma Bohnsack. They returned to the farm until 1944 when he retired from farming and they moved to Neillsville.

Mr. Wilding worked for the American Stores Dairy Company and for Badger State Telephone Company for several years. A member of the United Methodist Church, he had been a resident of Memorial Home for the past six and one-half years.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Lucille) Kalsow and Mrs. Erma Alstot, both of Neillsville; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Wilding, Jesse O. (15 May 1879 -19 April 1976)

Funeral services were held Thursday from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Jesse O. Wilding, 96, of Memorial Home, who died April 19. The Rev. William Noble of the united Methodist Church officiated, and burial followed in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Walter Brown, Buford Wilding, Calvin Gerhardt, Ernest Kuhn, Theamore Vine and Lawrence Bohnsack.
“Beyond The Sunset” and “Have Thine Own Way” were sung by Cora Noble. Iris Musil was the accompanist.
