Young, Augusta (27 August 1858-26 February 1937)

LOYAL-- Mrs. August Young, 78, died at her home here Wednesday of a stomach ailment from which she had been suffering for many years. She had been confined to her bed since September.

Funeral services will be conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday, the Rev. H. F. Leschensky officiating, and burial will take place in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Young was born in Germany on August 27, 1858, and was married to John Houpt in Germany in 1877. They later came to the United States and settled at Mannvlle, where Mr. Houpt died.

Mrs. Houpt was married to August Young about 50 years ago and they operated a farm two miles east of Loyal until 17 years ago, when they moved to the village. Mr. Young died 14 years ago.

Surviving are nine children: Fred Houpt, Loyal; Mrs. Gust (Ella) Timm, Iowa; Mrs. Albert (Bertha) Krueger, Columbus; William Houpt, at home; Ed Young and Paul Young, Loyal; Mrs. Rose Vogt, Livingston, Montana; Mrs. Otto (Matilda) Lemke, Loyal; Mrs. Roy (Grachie) Mengel, Baker, Montana.

There are also 12 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. William Hintz, Marshfield.
