NEILLSVILLE--Mrs. Helen L. Jacob, 75, of 1405 Hewett St. died Monday at Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiating. Burial will be in Neillsville Cemetery.

Friends may call at Gesche Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jacob was born August 13, 1905 at Wonewoc to John and Amelia (Kahler) Ripke and was educated at Hillsboro. The family moved to this area in 1918 and she was married here October 15, 1924 to Paul Jacob.

The couple farmed in the town of Weston until 1947 and then moved to Neillsville. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Dorcas Society.

Survivors include one son, Robert of Port Edward; one sister, Leona Jacob of Neillsville; one brother, Harley Ripke of Fennimore; one granddaughter; and one great-grandchild. Her husband died January 23, 1975.

Jacob, Helen L. (13 August 1905 – 19 January 1981)

Funeral services were to be held this afternoon, Thursday, January 22, from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville for Mrs. Helen L. Jacob, who passed away on January 19 in Neillsville Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Jacob, who resided at 1405 Hewett St. Neillsville, was 75 at the time of her death. She was a member of St. John’s congregation and its Dorcas Society.

The deceased was born on August 13, 1905, in Wonewoc to John and Amelia (Kahler) Ripke. She received her education in Hillsboro and then moved in 1918 with her parents to the Neillsville area. On October 15, 1924, she married Paul W. Jacob in Neillsville ceremonies. The couple farmed in the Town of Weston until 1947 when they moved into Neillsville, where they remained the rest of their lives.

Surviving her is a son, Robert Jacob, Port Edwards; a sister, Mrs. Leona Jacob, Neillsville; a brother, Harley Ripke, Fennimore; a granddaughter; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband (January 23, 1975) and her parents.

The Rev. Norman Lindloff was to officiate at the service with burial to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Chester Turville, Lawrence Bohnsack, Joe Resong, Ellis Williams, Bert Schultz and Archie Schultz. (Visitation was held at the Gesche Funeral Home from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday evening; again on Thursday morning at the mortuary; and then one hour before the services at the church.)
