Kupke, Margaret Becker (5 December 1890-2 March 1981)

NEILLSVILLE — Mrs. Margaret Kupke, a town of York resident many years, died Monday at Memorial Home. She was 90.

The funeral will be Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. Joseph N. Henseler officiating. Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield, will be the burial site.
Friends may at Gesche Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kupke was born Dec. 5, 1890 in Port Washington to John and Mary (Schiltz) Lecher. She was educated there and at Marshfield, where she moved at age 13 with her family.

In 1909, she and Henry Becker, who is deceased, were married. They resided in Marshfield many years. In 1927, she came to Neillsville and married Carl "Charlie" Kupke in October 1931 in Milwaukee. They resided in the town of York. He died Sept. 28, 1979. She had been at Memorial Home the past seven months.

A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Parish Council of Catholic Women, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Russell (Arlene) Schnabel of Neillsville; three sons, Clarence Becker of Neillsville, Harold Becker of Marshfield and John Becker of Somerville, Mass.; one sister, Mrs. Curtiss (Matilda) Bohn of Menomonee Falls; two brothers, Harry and Nicholas Lecher, both of Wisconsin Rapids; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Two daughters, one brother and two sisters are deceased.
