Richmond, Mr./Mrs. Jesse (Silver – 23 June 1976)

Mr. and Mrs. James Richmond were honored in observance of their 35th wedding anniversary at an open house held Sunday, May 23, at the Richmond home on Rt. 2 Granton. The open house was given by their children.

Jesse Richmond and the former Virginia Vandeberg were married June 23, 1951, at the Christie Methodist Church by the Rev, Virgil Nulton. Both are active members of the Granton Methodist Church.

The Richmond’s are a licensed foster home, and presently have three foster daughters,, in addition to their children, Kathy Kay of Wisconsin Rapids and Karen Mae, Carole Jeanne and Marvin Eugene, at home.

Besides her home and church responsibilities, Mrs. Richmond is also active in homemakers and the Busy Bee Hoe Boe Band and is a leader of the Pleasant Ridge 4-H club. Mr. Richmond sells farm equipment and silos.

Among those present for the anniversary observance was Mr. Richmond’s mother, Mrs. Ed Akin of Mountain Grove, Mo. Others came from Larson, Chippewa Falls, Wausau, Greenwood, Wisconsin Rapids, Arpin, Junction City, Marshfield, Loyal, Hastings, Mn., Hinckley, Mn., and Harvard, Il, in addition to Granton and Neillsville. Included were their wedding attendants Mrs. Sarah Peterson of Larson and Erland Greeler and Mrs. Gale Oldham of Neillsville.
