Turnquist, Corrine Sue (Marriage – 22 May 1976)

The Rev. David E. Wenger officiated at the marriage of Miss Corine Sue Turnquist and Douglas James Goike, both of Eau Claire, May 22 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Turnquist of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Goike of Eau Claire.

Arlan Turnquist of Wausau was the assisting minister. Her father gave the bride away.

Special music was an organ recital by Miss Burdell Nielsen; a duet, “One Hand, One Heart,” by Linda and Carol Turnquist; Processions, “Joy of Man’s Desiring,” and recessional, “Trumpet Tunes;” duet, “Follow Me,” by Linda Turnquist and Tom Poppe, who also sang a solo, “The Wedding Song.” Guitarists were Paul and Lynn Seipel of Eau Claire.

The bride wore a long, white satin, lace trimmed gown and carried a colonial bouquet of carnations and stephanotis. The maid-of-honor, Linda Deminsky, of Eau Claire, wore along peach gown; and the bridesmaids, Alice Feldman of Owen, Sheila Turnquist of West Allis; Cheryl Goike of Eau Claire, Brendy Perger of Wausau, wore long, green gowns.

The bestman was Terry Burrows of Eau Claire. Groomsmen were David Goike of Nebraska; Greg Goike of Eau Claire; Herb Turnquist of Kenosha; and Bill Hagedorn of Eau Claire. Ushers were Gene Turnquist, Wayne Turnquist and Ron Reidel.

A wedding dinner was served at Our Savior’s Church following the services and a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The young couple is spending a week in Northern Wisconsin before returning to Eau Claire, where they will reside.

The bride graduated from Greenwood High School in 1973, attended a school in Appleton for a year and graduated in the fall of 1975 from the Eau Claire Vocational School. She is presently employed in Eau Claire. The groom is attending the Eau Claire Vocational School.
