Chotoff, Relie (14 AUG 1971)

St. Mary’s Church in Auburndale was the setting of the August 14, 1971 wedding of Miss Relie Chotoff of Dorchester and Gerald Ashbeck of Auburndale.

Father Wagner performed the 1 p.m. ceremony uniting the children of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Chotoff of Dorchester and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ashbeck, Auburndale.

For her wedding day the bride chose a gown of nylon organza over taffeta with ribbed organza bib front edged with Venice lace, jewel neckline trimmed with Venice lace, and bishop sleeves. The softly gathered skirt flowed into a chapel train with ribbed organza Venice lace border. Her fingertip length illusion veil was secured to a profile headpiece.

Miss Ann Kent, the maid of honor, and Sue Froebel, bridesmaid, wore mint green organza over taffeta with jewel neckline, Venice lace V-bodice with ribbed organza insert, long sheer sleeves and softly gather skirts. The flower girl, Miss Sherry Hass, wore a yellow dress similar to the bridal aides. They carried baskets of daisies and wore daisy garland headpieces.

Duane Ashbeck was his brother’s best man. The groomsmen were Bill Froebel and Leon Hass, and Mike Kowieski performed the ushering services.

A reception dinner and dance honoring the couple were held in the Marwood Inn in Marshfield.

The bride is a graduate of La Crosse State University and is employed as an elementary teacher. Her husband graduated from De Vry Technical Institute in and is employed by Nekoosa Edwards Paper Mill.

Following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Canada, the couple will be living at 1060 Lakewood Lane, Wisconsin Rapids.
