Meyer, Joey (Marriage – 5 June 1976)

A Sunday afternoon reception at the Wildcat Inn honored Mr. and Mrs. David A. Pischer who were married the previous day, June 5, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. The Rev. Richard E. Larson officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony, followed by a backyard picnic at the Newlyweds’ home on Johnson St. in Madison.

The former Miss Joey Meyer, the bride is the daughter of Bill and Irma Meyer of Black River Falls. Harvey and Amber Pischer of Neillsville are the groom’s parents.

For her wedding, the bride chose a full length gown of white gauze fashioned with long, full sleeves, an embroidered bodice with V-neckline buttoned to below the waist, and a gathered waistline. Long-stemmed red roses former her bouquet. She wore a wreath of white baby’s breath in her hair as she was presented in marriage by her father.

Deb Meyer, Vail, Co., cousin of the bride, was her honor attendant. Bridesmaids included her sister, Susan Meyer, Black River Falls, and Roberta Solem and Marge Ulman, Madison. Each wore a gown of her own choosing and carried a single, long-stemmed white rose.

Serving as bestman was Tom Clark, Wautoma. Groomsmen were Gary Procknow, Stoughton, and Jim McKendry and John Faherty, Madison. Brothers of the bride, Mike and Steve Meyer, shared ushering duties.

The new Mrs. Pischer is an art student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is employed at the UW Regional primate research center. Her husband has a bachelor of science degree in engineering mechanics and is presently working on his master’s degree at the UW-Madison, where he is a teaching assistant.
