Schmidt, Brenda L. (Marriage – 19 June 1976)

Marriage vows were repeated Saturday, June 19, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, by Brenda L. Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Schmidt, Rt. 2 Loyal, and Charles H. Rueth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Rueth, Rt. 2 Parma, Id. The Rev. Osowski officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony, followed by a supper at the parish hall and a reception and dance at the Loyal American Legion Hall.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a gown of polyester organza with Chantilly lace, featuring a high neckline, long, lace sleeves and a flounce edged skirt flowing into a chapel train. Her headpiece secured a cathedral length, lace-edged mantilla veil. A cascade arrangement of daisies, white roses, carnations and baby’s breath formed her bouquet.

Miss Barbara Schmidt, Loyal, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Mary Ann Genteman, Colby, Miss Sheila Rueth, Nampa, Id., and Mrs. Tom Duell, Loyal. Their pinafore-style gowns in a rainbow shades of orchid, blue, pink and apricot were complimented by matching picture hats. They carried baskets of daisies, tinted to match, the colors of their gowns and Baby’s breath.

The groom was attended by Gerald Rueth, Parma, Id., as best man and by Tim Bauer, Greenwood, Jimmy Schmidt, Milan, and Tom Duell, Loyal, as groomsmen. Guests were seated by Donald Weyer, Spencer, and Dave Bauer, Greenwood.

Bradley Schmidt was the ring bearer and Bridgett Schmidt, the flower girl.

The adult choir of St. Anthony’s sang.

The new Mrs. Rueth is a 1973 graduate of Loyal High School. Her husband graduated from Parma High School in 1971 and attended Treasure Valley community college, Ontario, Or. Both are employed by a Spencer firm.

They will make their home on Rt. 2 Spencer, following their return from a wedding trip to the Dakotas.
