Strangfeld, Leila Ann (Marriage – 19 June 1976)

Miss Leila Ann Strangfeld became the bride of Richard David Burgdorf in a 7 p.m. ceremony performed June 19 at Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Pine Valley by the Rev. Stephen Engelstad. The couple greeted guests later at a reception at Bali Hai Supper Club.

The new Mrs. Burgdorf is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Strangfeld, Rt. 3 Neillsville. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Burgdorf, Rt. 2 Kiel, are the groom’s parents.

For her wedding day, the bride chose an entrained, empire-style gown accented by seed pearl and fashioned with neckline, sleeves and hemline of pale ivory cotton venise lace. A matching shoulder-length veil completed her costume. Her semi-cascade bouquet was formed of pale green Cymbidium orchids and yellow garnets with white variegated dracaena foliage. She was presented in marriage by her father.

Miss Diane Isely, Kiel, matron of honor, and Mrs. Cindy Strangfeld, Neillsville, and Miss Dianne Lautenbach, Granton, bridesmaids, appeared in Nile green dotted Swiss empire gowns accented with neck and hemline ruffling. Their cascade arrangements of foliage were complimented by foliage in their hair.

Serving as bestman was Dave Thomas, Medford. Dave Guckeisen and Joe Isely, both of Kiel, aced as groomsmen. Guests were seated by Bruce Strangfeld, brother of the bride, and Robert Burgdorf, brother of the groom.

Music at the wedding was by Mrs. Kendall Smith.

The bride was honored at pre-nuptial showers given by Sherie Burgdorf and pat Atlschuler and by Cindy Strangfeld.

A 1974 graduate of Neillsville High School, the bride is also a 1976 horticulture marketing graduate of Gateway Technical Institute-Kenosha. Her husband graduated from Kiel High School in 1973 and from the horticulture marketing program at Gateway in 1975. Both are employed at greenhouses in Kiel.

Following a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin, they are living on Rt. 2 Kiel.
