Anding, Lydia L. (1 February 1892 – 24 June 1976)

Funeral services were held Monday from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for a Town of Lynn native, Mrs. Charles (Lydia) Anding, 84, of Neillsville, who died Thursday, June 24. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated and burial followed in the Town of Lynn Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home.

Mrs. Anding, the daughter of Herman J. and Amelia L. Richert Yankee, was born February 1, 1892, in the Town of Lynn and attended the Sunbeam School. She worked at the hotel in Granton and at other domestic jobs in the area before her marriage to Charles Anding, which took place November 3, 1915, in Neillsville.

After their marriage, the Andings farmed in the Town of Lynn until 1951 when they retired and moved to Neillsville. Mrs. Anding had been a resident of Memorial Home for the past two years because of failing health. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Lynn Birthday Club.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three children, Arnold Anding of Neillsville, Mrs. Erma Terman of Eau Claire and Duane Anding of Granton; one brother, Amos Yankee of Granton; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 28, from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, for Mrs. Charles (Lydia L.) Anding, 84, of Neillsville, who died June 24. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated, and burial followed in the Town of Lynn Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Arno Winter, Alfred Riedel, Louis Riedel, Harold Beilke, Norman Beilke and Donald Stringer.

Mrs. Kathy Quast sang, “The 23rd Psalm” and “Asleep In Jesus.” The accompanist was Sharron Weber.

Among those attending the services were the following from out of town, Mrs. Erma Terman and Mr. and Mrs. Terry Terman, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Steinke, Mrs. Ruth Evanson and Ray Dethart, Sparta; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Anding and Mr. and Mrs. Orvis Anding, Mayville; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anding, Madison; Mrs. Helen Harriman, Owen.

Mrs. Carol Harriman, Mrs. Ella Hanson, Mrs. Eva Meissner, Mrs. Dan Adams and Mrs. Arlene Breseman, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Riedel and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Riedel, Wisconsin Rapids; Amos Yankee, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Anding, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Anding and many friends and neighbors from Granton and the surrounding area.
