Beeckler, Ben H. (29 June 1889 – 25 June 1976) With Flag

A native of the Town of Lynn and veteran of the Mexican border conflict, Ben H. Beeckler, 86, of Rt. 1 Granton, died Friday, June 25, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, with the Rev. William Noble of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Windfall Cemetery.


Pallbearers were Thomas Phipps, William Morley, William Hoeft, Lawrence Schumacher, Erlin Dahl and Earl Chubb.

Mr. Beeckler was born June 29, 1889, in the Town of Lynn and received his education in schools in the Town of Grant, and at Neillsville High School. His marriage to the former Esther True took place May 25, 1918, in Neillsville. Mrs. Beeckler preceded her husband in death on November 16, 1964.

After his marriage, Mr. Beeckler lived in the Town of Pine Valley for approximately seven years, and since that time had lived on a farm in the Town of Grant. He served as treasurer of Joint School District No. 4 for many years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Margarett) Retzlaff of Verona; two sons, William Beeckler of Granton and jack True of Clintonville; and seven Grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by a sister, Daphne Beeckler of Granton.
