"OH WOW! That's fantastic!" was the first thing Brenda Ruzic of Neillsville, WI said when Country EXTRA told her she'd won CX's "Festive Strawberry Dishes" recipe contest.

"I'd think of sending in a recipe every month when I'd read Country Extra," Brenda continued, "and when I saw the strawberry contest, I knew this was it. Am I every happy I entered!"

A big reason Brenda's glad is that she received $150 worth of groceries from Country Extra as her prize. First -place winners of all CX recipe contests receive this family-size award.

"Strawberry Cream Delight" is the name Brenda gave the bright-red, beautiful and utterly delicious dessert which Farm Wife News food editor Annette Gohlke judged the best out of several hundred recipes received for the strawberry dish contest.

We think you CX readers (as well as your families and guests) will agree that the "product" of her recipe is a real, refreshing delight.

Brenda says she's quite an experimenter when it comes to recipes. She told CX that the "invention" she entered in our contest is a particular favorite with everyone who tries it.

Brenda's recipe, printed here for your making and eating pleasures, include walnuts, cream cheese, whipped cream and, of course, lots of fresh strawberries.

CX's happy volunteer taste-testers had a difficultl time selecting final entries in the strawberry recipe contest. (We suspect those strawberry lovers intentionally prolonged the testing!)

When they eventually stopped, they agreed unanimously with food editor Annette that Brenda's "Cream Delight" rated No. 1.

Brenda told Country EXTRA that just last week she picked a huge bucket of strawberries and made "Strawberry Cream Delight" for a group of friends. Not a speck was left over, she said. (We could have predicted that, Brenda!)
CX testers' taste buds also were delightfully stimulated by "Baked Strawberry Dessert" by Dolores Tate of Muscatine, Iowa, and "Avocado Strawberry Ring" by Dorothy Babish of Avella, Pennsylvania. These recipes were finally ranked No. 2 and 3 respectively, and are printed at lower left.
