Pickett, Rex (3 July 1919 - 28 May 1981)

SPENCER -- Rex Pickett, 61, Veterans Home, King, died Thursday evening at Veterans Hospital, Madison.

The funeral will be Sunday at United Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles W. Strong will officiate. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery. Friends may call at Gilbertson Funeral Home. Granton.

Mr. Pickett was born here July 3, 1919 and educated here. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. The American Legion Post of Unity will have military rites at the cemetery.

On November 16, 1946, he married Margie Stayton, from whom he was divorced.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Rebecca) Clausen of Port Edwards and Laura Lee Pickett of Minneapolis; two sons, Stephen and Scott, both of Nekoosa; two sisters, Mrs. Ione Cooper of Loyal and Mrs. Robert (Audrey) Spry of Granton; and one brother, Jack of Spencer. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Earl (Theresa Beeckler) Pickett.
