On Saturday, September 4, 1965 Beverly Stelzel of route 1, Dorchester, participated in the talent show of the fifth annual Marathon City Fun Days, sponsored by the American Legion.

She was awarded first place with her vocal entry from the musical “Mary Poppins.”

On Sunday she was invited back as a guest to sing on their afternoon program. She appeared along with the new 1965 “Alice in Dairyland”, Kathy Kenkas.

Beverly, daughter of the Mr. and Mrs. Martin Stelzel of rural Dorchester, and a 1965 graduate of Abbotsford High School, sang at many occasions this past summer, son of which included the 4th of July celebration at Wausau, and Channel 9’s ABC Search for Talent, of which she was selected as one of the five semi-finalists.

Her accompanist is her sister, Mrs. Dennis Tischendorf.

She is now enrolled at Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire, and plans to major in sociology. She expects to continue music lessons at the college.
