Phillips, Leavitt L. (29 December 1902 – 19 August 1976)

Funeral services were held Monday from the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home in Owen for Leavitt L. Phillips, 73, who died Thursday, August 19, at the Clark County Health Center in Owen. The Rev. Loren Swanson, pastor of the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, Owen, officiated, and burial followed in the Town of Seif Cemetery.

Leavitt Phillips was born December 29, 1902, Waterloo, Ia., and farmed in the Town of Hendren, in the Globe area until 1940. His marriage to the former Viola Rath took place December 29, 1931.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Viola, Plymouth, include two sons Elwood of Chippewa Falls and Edward of Plymouth; one sister, Mrs. Emma Martin of Madison; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Art, Clarence, and Wayne Wegner, Orville Modersohn, and Paul Kuenkel.
