Schreiner, Judith (2 OCT 1965)

The wedding of Judith Schreiner and David Weix took place Saturday, October 2, 1965 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. John Pinion officiated at the nuptial high mass.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mrs. Loretta Schreiner and the late Charles Schreiner, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Weix, all of Colby.

Attending the bride were Bernadine Schreiner, Bernice Lake, Donna Weix, Bonnie Weix, and Cheryl Riehle. The groom’s attendants were Clem Riehle, Eugene Lake, Larry Weix, and Paul Weix.

For her wedding the bride wore a traditional bridal gown of hand clipped case join lace and silk bombazine. The molded bodice was of lace with a scalloped Sabrina neckline beaded with seed pearls and sequins. The bouffant skirt of bombazine had a pickup overskirt trimmed with lace appliques over three tiers of scalloped lace, which extended to the floor. The long, court-length train of bombazine was bordered with lace. The bouffant elbow length veil of illusion was secured to a wedding cake turned crown of entwined seed pearl points with crystal and pearl stem trim.

She carried a bouquet in an open heart frame with white orchids and roses tied in the streamers and roses and white button pompons mixed in the heart frame.

She wore a cross necklace and earrings, a present from the groom.

The bridesmaids were presented with a cross necklace and earrings from the bride.

A reception took place at the Trianon Ballroom following supper at St. Mary’s school hall and a wedding dance at the Trianon ballroom.

Guests were present from Colby, Unity, Curtiss, Marshfield, Dorchester, beaver Dam, Fond du Lac, Waupun, Avalon, Milwaukee, Abbotsford, Athens, Edgar, Wausau, Marathon, and Mosinee.

Following a wedding trip through the western states, the couple will make their home in Colby, where the groom is employed by the Packaging Corporation of America.
