Elmhorst, Carl (15 July 1913 - 17 August 1981)

Carl Elmhorst, 67, of 1405 E. Blodgett St., died today at St. Joseph's Hospital. Services will be Wednesday at Hansen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert C. Reinhardt, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at Brooklawn Memorial Gardens with nephews serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Elmhorst was born July 15, 1913 in Buckingham, Illinois and attended Granton schools. He married Marian Johnson August 8, 1938 in Neillsville.

After their marriage, the couple farmed in the town of Fremont until 1949 when Mr. Elmhorst began working for Roddis Plywood Co., later Weyerhauser. He worked there for 29 years, retiring in 1978.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Wanda) Magee of Poquoson, Virginia; two sons, Gary and Darrel, both of Marshfield; four grandchildren; seven sisters, Mrs. George (Amanda) Witheft and Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Capelle, both of Herscher, Illinois, Mrs. Art (Evelyn) Lichte of Boulder, Colorado, Mrs. Ted (Emma) Smith and Mrs. Harold (Vera) Lemke, both of Marshfield, Mrs. Loyal (Verna) Stover of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Vernon (Laura Mae) Wegner of Clermont, Florida; and three brothers, Walter of Chili, Henry of Neillsville and Eldon of Denver.

He was predeceased by two children and one brother.
