Leja, Laura V. (26 April 1899 - 22 August 1981)

Mrs. Joseph (Laura V.) Leja, 82, Route 3, Stanley, township of Thorp, died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

The former Laura Fijalkiewicz was born April 2, 1899 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose (Mary) Fijalkiewicz. The family moved to the town of Thorp in 1911. She married Joseph Leja July 10, 1923 at St. Mary's Czestochowa Church, Stanley. They lived and farmed in the Stanley area since that time.

She was a member of St. Mary's Czestochowa parish and the Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband, one brother, John of Route 3, Stanley; and four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Glazowski of Route 3 Stanley, Mrs. Anna Kavanagh. Mrs. Josephne Prussman and Mrs. Estelle Lemerman, all of Chicago.

She was predeceased by her parents, one brother and four sisters,

Services will be Tuesday at St. Mary's Czestochowa Church with the Rev. John Pinion officiating, Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Plombbon Funeral Home, Stanley.
