Van Slett, Frank (1 FEB 1883 – 6 DEC 1965)

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, December 9, 1965 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, for Frank Van Slett, 82, who died December 6 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

The body reposed at the Lulloff Funeral Home until the time of service. A general rosary was conducted at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. John B. Pinion officiated at the requiem mass and, interment was made in the parish cemetery.

The pallbearers were all sons of the deceased: Elmo, Wausau, and Charles, Francis, Arthur, Joseph, and Russell, all of Milwaukee.

Frank Van Slett was born February 1, 1883 at Dorchester. He was united in marriage to Mae Allain on May 8, 1908, at Colby. They lived at Loyal and Milan, and then farmed near unity before coming to Colby in 1963.

To this union were born ten children: Elmo, Wausau, and Charles, Francis, Arthur, Joseph, Russell and Orville, all of Milwaukee, and three daughters, Mrs. George (Aurelia) Blanchard, Mrs. Ewar Marie) Allmann, and Mrs. Russell (Bernice) Meyer, all of Colby. Also surviving are 41 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, who died February 19, 1965, and by a grandson.
