Foote, Charles J. (3 January 1909 - 13 October 1981)

NEILLSVILLE -- Charles J. Foote, 72, of Route 1 died Tuesday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Friday at Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary L. Clark, pastor of United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Neillsville cemetery.

Mr. Foote was born January 3, 1909 in Neillsville to Oscar C. and Marie (Kutchera) Foote, and received his education here, graduating from Neillsville High School. He also attended Oshkosh Business College for one year, then worked in the area and farmed in the town of Pine Valley, south of the fairgrounds.

He had also been employed by H.H. Van Gorden and Sons here for 20 years, retiring in 1978. The past years he worked at home refinishing and repairing furniture.

He married the former Lucille H. Raine at Waukon, Iowa September 14, 1940 and she survives.

Other survivors are two sons, Jerry Foote of Wheeling, Illinois and James Foote of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Mary Mueller of West Allis; and five grandchildren.

His parents are deceased.

Foote, Charles J. (3 January 1909 - 13 October 1981)

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, October 16, from Gesche Funeral Home for Charles J. Foote, who was 72 at the time of his death on October 13.

The Rev. Gary Clark of the Neillsville United Church of Christ officiated. Deon Spangler offered music for the service. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery; serving as pallbearers were Herron Van Gorden, Jerry Strack, Robert Poler, Charles Schutz, Joseph Schmidt and Neil Johnston.

Attending the services from out-ot-town were Mr./Mrs. Jerry Foote & family, Wheeling, Ill.; Mr./Mrs. James Foote & sons, Manitowoc; Mr./Mrs. Kenneth Wallner, West Allis; Mrs. James Pierce & son, Wauwatosa; Roy Comstock, Alma Center, Mr./Mrs. Glen Kutchera, Humbird and Mrs. Gordon Thur, Fairchild; Mr./Mrs. John Kutchera and Mr./Mrs. Adolph Kostohryz, of Black River Falls; Mr./Mrs. Marvin Ziegler, Mrs. Pete Shirley and Mrs. Louis Ziegler, of Willard; Mr./Mrs. Neil Johnston and Brian Johnston & son, of Loyal; Mrs. Gilbert Layton, Wis. Rapids; Mrs. Alvin Lezotte, Merrill; and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Poler, West Bend.
