Sterzinger, William (20 January 1929 - 18 November 1981)

COLBY -- William G. Sterzinger Sr., 52, Route 2, Colby, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where he had been a patient since October 26.

Services will be Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Raymond J. Pedretti, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call Friday at the Rux-Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby.

Mr. Sterzinger was born January 20, 1929 at Marshfield, and married the former Lena Weigel May 6, 1953 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Rozellville. The past 25 years he worked at the Packaging Corporation of America at Colby as a machine operator.

He served with the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict and also in Germany for three years. He was a member of the VFW Post 2227 at Colby and also of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Local 803.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Peter, Chippewa falls, Greg, Dorchester, William Jr., Colby and Gary, Wausau,; five daughters, Miss Judy Sterzinger, Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Bryan (Rose) Johnson, Route 2, Marshfield, Miss Janet Sterzinger and Miss Patricia Sterzinger, both of Marshfield, and Miss Sheryl Sterzinger, Colby; his step-parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Sterzinger, Colby; three brothers, Ambrose, Colby, Robert, Hibbing, Minnesota, and James, Locke, New York; three step-brothers, Anthony, Herbert and Sylvester, all of Colby, and a step-sister, Mrs. Donald (Mary Ann) Uerling, Colby.'He was predeceased by a daughter, three brothers, a sister and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Adena) Sterzinger.
