Jakobi, Twila Mae “Tie” (31 October 1940 – 24 January 2024)

Twila “Tie” Mae Jakobi, 83, of Colby, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the Marshfield Medical Center.

Per Twila’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.

Twila was born on October 31, 1940, in Loyal, the daughter of William and Angeline (Miller) Evans. She attended Marshfield Senior High until the 11th grade. On May 25, 1963, she was united in marriage to Donald Jakobi in Winona County, Minnesota. Together, they owned and operated a dairy farm in the Colby area.

She enjoyed the intricate details of embroidery and doing word search puzzles. Her priority in life was feeding her family from tending to her gardens to collecting eggs from the coop and canning; she always had a warm meal waiting. She always had a lap to sit on for the grandkids and she would have given her shirt off her back to anyone in need.

Those who will cherish her memory include her children: Gary (Barb) Jakobi of Marathon, Cheryl (Conrad) Nagorski of Stevens Point, Tammy (Roger) Vanderhoff of Unity, Donald (Wendy) Jakobi, Jr of Colby, Christine (Kenny) Hintz of Stevens Point, Gayle Jakobi of Colby, Darnel Jakobi of Unity, Daryl (Amy) Jakobi of Loyal, Denise (Randy) Rucker of Spencer and Scott (Chris) Jakobi of Greenwood; her grandchildren, Mike, Brandon, Joe, Shannon, Brent, Rodger, Jason, Deanna, Tina, Eric, James, Jamie, Trevor, Brittany, Amber, Dillion, Tyler, Shantel, McKenzie, Sydney, Kyle and Samantha and her many great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Twila is preceded in death by her parents, William and Angeline Evans; her husband, Donald Jakobi in 2013; her daughters, Dawn Jakobi and Michelle Manthe and her siblings, Sherry, Roxann, Jackie, Lavon, Boots, Vicky and David.

Twila’s arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer. To share a memory or offer condolences, please visit www.lifetributesfuneralhome.com
