Symbal, Elaine R. (19 DEC 1932 – 28 JUL 2020)

Elaine Rose Symbal, 87, of Stanley, WI, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Oakbrook Health and Rehab in Thorp, WI. Elaine was born on December 19, 1932, in the Town of Reseburg to the late Albert and Mary (Baldeschwiler) Meyer. She grew up in the Stanley area and graduated from Stanley High. On July 31, 1951, she married Alex Symbal. They farmed for many years.

Elaine had a kind demeanor and always had a smile. She made over 100 afghans and was well known for her pickles.

She is survived by Allen (Cindy) of Stanley and Mary (Ron) Osowski of Thorp; her grandchildren: Rita (Allen) Lew, Jill Osowski, Jessica, Chris Geist, Tim (Brandi) Symbal and Hannah (Logan) Schmidt; seven great-grandchildren: Riley, Alex, Zachary, Olivia, Levi, Aria, Everett and many nieces and nephews. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alex (1996); her brother, Willy Meyer; and her sister, Catherine Zimmerman.


A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 31, 2020, at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley. Burial followed in Holy Family Cemetery, Stanley. Visitation was held one hour prior to services Friday at the Funeral Home.
