Pettit, Norbert J. (23 February 1913 - 13 January 1982)

NEILLSVILLE - Norbert J. Pettit, 68, of 2 Grand Ave., Neillsville, died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Services will be Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville, with the Rev. Joseph N. Henseler officiating. Following the services, the body will be cremated, and be interred in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at a later date. The Gesche Funeral Home in in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pettit was born February 23, 1913, in Tripp County, South Dakota. He was educated in that state and on December 23, 1936, he and the former Agnes Deliski were married in Pierre, South Dakota.

They farmed in South Dakota for several years, moving to Clark County in 1952. They operated a farm in the town of Grant before moving to Neillsville in 1970.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Maureen) Meier, of Neillsville; three sons, James of Des Moines, Iowa, John, of Chili and David, of Waukesha; two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Margaret) Holden, of Colome, South Dakota, and Mrs. Jerome (Edith) Neyens, Winner, South Dakota; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers.
