Pabich, Henry John (15 July 1933 – 25 August 2017)

Henry John Pabich, 84, of Lake Geneva, formerly of Stanley, died Friday August 25, 2017 at Holton Manor with family at his side in Elkhorn.

Henry was born in Thorp, on July 15, 1933 the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Papierniak) Pabich. He was a graduate of Thorp High school and graduated as a pharmacist from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He met Shirley (Byron) while serving his internship at Arnold's Drugs in Lake Geneva and they were united in marriage June 9, 1956 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva. In 1958 he and Shirley moved to Thorp, where he worked and eventually bought Wolf Drug Store. He also owned and operated Hank’s Pharmacy and Liquor Store in Stanley.

Hank had been a member of the Lions Club in Thorp and Stanley; He was a founder and member of the Thorp Sportsman’s Club. He was a member and President of the Stanley Commercial Club as well as the Stanley Businessmen's Club. He enjoyed snowmobiling as a member of the Thorp and Stanley snowmobile clubs. He was a member of the Beekeepers Association owning 200 bee hives. Hank was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing on Lake Superior and Lake Michigan with family and friends. Hank had a great love for their dogs, especially Maxi, Susie and his best friends Misty and Sassy.

Hank is survived by: the love of his life for over 61 years, his wife Shirley, 5 children; Dawn Pabich of Oconto, Sharlene (Gene) Hejhal of Twin Lakes, Dean (Roberta) Pabich of Loyal, Lorilyn (Jeffrey Koepke) Pabich of Waterford, and Terry (Jenny) Pabich of Roberts, 6 grandchildren; Leann, Emma, Ben, Riley, Gavin, and Gwen, 2 great-grandchildren; Lilly and Owen, a brother Jim Pabich of Chippewa Falls, 2 sisters; Mary Ellen Andrews of Grand Junction, CO and Barbara Bodner-Johnson of Washington, DC and a sister-in-law Blanch (the late Richard) Pabich of Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard.

A Funeral mass for Henry will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 7, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley; Father Felix of All Saints Catholic Parish will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday, at the Church, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
