Phoebe Ann Hills was born June 23, 1856, at Concord, Wisconsin, to Catherine and Jesse Hills. She passed away at one o’clock Saturday morning at the Johnstone Memorial hospital in Beach, ND. She lacked twenty days of being 88 years old. She was united in marriage to William Mengel at Concord, Wis., on February 19th, 1874.
Those who will miss her most are her children: Mrs. Maude Hubbard, of Dillon, Montana, Mrs. Burton Welsh, Mr. John Mengel and Mrs. Albion Welsh of Wibaux, Montana, Mrs. Wassink and Roy Mengel of Baker, Montana. Irving Mengel of Curtiss, Wisconsin and Bert Mengel of Loyal, Wis.  Besides these she leaves 29 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Burton Welsh left with her body Monday morning for Loyal, Wisconsin, where services will be held and interment made beside her husband and her mother.
