Raether, Laverne R. (3 February 1936 – 7 November 2020)

Laverne R Raether, 84, of Stanley, died Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the Abbotsford Nursing Home.

He was born on February 3, 1936 to the late Howard and Lillian (Noel) Raether. LaVerne grew up in Stanley and on May 25, 1959 married Beatrice Berg in Rantoul, IL. The couple traveled around the world as LaVerne was in the Airforce for 20 years. LaVerne also worked various jobs in Michigan until moving to Stanley where he worked for IKE International until retirement. He enjoyed four wheeling, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He loved his family and the Packers and watching and feeding hummingbirds.

LaVerne is survived by his 2 sons, Ronald (special friend-Debbie) Raether of Brantwood, Kirk (Luanne) Raether of Stanley, one daughter, Sherri Raether of Medford, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Alfred (Karen) Raether of Stephenson, MI and Gerald (Lynn) Raether of Stanley and one sister, Donna Raether.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Bea (2010).
