Langreck, Eugene “Gene” Alfred (28 October 1938 – 21 January 2021)

Eugene “Gene” A. Langreck, 82 of Neillsville, died on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Riverside Assisted Living in Neillsville.

Eugene Alfred Langreck was born October 28, 1938 the son of Francis and Marcella (Schaefer) Langreck. His mother died of scarlet fever just 2 months after Gene’s birth.

Gene took his first job at the age of 16 driving laundry truck for Model Laundry until he took a job with Nelson Muffler in 1956. He then drove a milk route for a few years and then went to work for Fullerton Lumber Company. In 1961 he started a 40 year career with Badger State Telephone. He worked his way up starting with Lineman and eventually became a District Manager, retiring in March of 2001.

Gene was united in marriage to Patricia Tomkins on May 2, 1959 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. He was a quiet man who loved his family and enjoyed many trips out west hunting. He was a member of the Neillsville Men’s Club and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He will be missed by his wife, Patricia, sons, Patrick of the Canary Islands, Spain and Tim (Lana) Langreck of Eau Claire, 2 brothers, Tony (Mary) Langreck of Neillsville and Francis (Bonnie) Langreck of Granton, many nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held.
