Theodore “Ted” Fritsch was one of eight sons born to John and Anna Fritsch. He was born on October 31, 1920 in Spencer. He was graduated from Spencer High School in 1938. From there he enrolled at Central State Teacher College at Stevens Point, where he graduated in 1942. While at Stevens Point, he majored in Biology.

In the Fall of 1942, he joined the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League, and soon won the position as starting Fullback. He played with the Packers through 1950. Among his accomplishments with the Packers were All League Fullback in 1944, 1945 and 1946, and Scoring Champion of the NFL in 1946 with 100 points.

He earned his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin in 1950. After his playing days with the Packers, Ted coached at Premontre High School in Green Bay for 16 years. He is now the Superintendent of the City Park System in Green Bay. He is the father of four children, His son, Ted Jr., plays professional football for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL.
