Lindsay, Julia (28 December 1902 - 4 Feb 1983)

COLBY -- Services for Mrs. John (Julia) Lindsay, 80, Colby, who died Friday at Golden Age Nursing Home, Rib Lake, were today at the Rux Funeral Home, Colby.

Pallbearers were Arlyn Edblom, Scott Goeky, John Coates, Sherman Loos, Carl Vadder and James Karau.

The former Julia Moritz was born December 28, 1902, in JoDaviess County, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Moritz. She was a graduate of Lone Rock High School, Saulk County Normal School and the Palmer School of Penmanship. She taught school in Sauk County until her marriage to John Lindsay on March 19, 1924, at Reedsburg. They then farmed in Sauk, Dane and Clark Counties and also in McHenry County, Illinois.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, Colby; a member of the Eastern Star for 60 years; and a member of the Neighborhood Club.

Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. William (Jessie) Hanford, Mary Louise Lindsay, both of Downers Grove, Illinois and Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Krause of Northfield, Ohio; a son, James of Friendwood, Texas; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Mothershead of Corvallis, Oregon. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother.
