Meyer, Edward M. (20 November 1906 - 6 February 1983)

Services for Edward M. Meyer, 76, of 1410 N. St. Joseph Ave, who died Sunday st St. Joseph's Hospital, will be Wednesday st St. John's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Steven J. Brice will officiate. Music will be provided by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wesley and William A. Allen. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Winemiller, Frank Degenhardt, James W. Sommers, Alan Meyer, Wayne a Rasmussen and Edwin Fountain. Visitation will be at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel.

He was born November 20, 1906, in Neillsville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William (Genevieve McKim) Meyer. He received his education at St. Anthony's Parochial School, Loyal and Loyal High School.

In 1939 he became a partner in Badger Fixtures Inc., Marshfield. He and his father owned and operated a restaurant, tavern and bowling lanes, in Loyal until 1946. In 1950 he became sole owner of the business, which he operated until his retirement in 1969. In 1966 he moved from Loyal to Marshfield, residing here since. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 665 of Marshfield and United Commercial Travelers.

He and Lydia A. Sommers were married October 9, 1939 in Postville, Iowa. She survives along with a son, William G. of Verona; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lee (Joan) Kirsch of Monroe; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Foster (Ruth) Will of Owen and Mrs. Henry (Gertrude) Keller of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents.
